I asked my good friend the other day what’s weight got to do with it and she replied, everything. The holiday madness and mayhem has passed and most people are now faced with the “after holiday guilt”. Confessionals in the bathroom mirror motivational pep talks it all sounds great. At any weight you can look your best by wearing pieces with your body in mind. Too often I hear women complain about having to lose weight to get into an outfit, it’s absurd! Maybe that outfit isn’t for you. Redirect your train of thought about being healthy, you’ll begin to feel better and look better. Get to know your body. Learn how to highlight your assets while camouflaging parts you’re not too fond of. Here are a few quick tips from me to you with lots of love.
.Refrain from emotional shopping. Most women fall victim to retail therapy only to later find themselves financially frustrated and more emotionally bankrupt. Chances are you’re impulse buying and sooner rather than later you won’t remember what you bought. Face the real issue head on.
.Try on pieces you love in an array of colors, textures and fabrics. Eventually you’ll be able to determine which ones are flattering vs. unforgiving. Do this when you have time and your mind is clear. Don’t try to do it all in one trip, take things in stride.
.Know your body and dress for YOUR BODY. Pay attention to proportions to create balance. Ask for help when you need it. Take advantage of personal shopping services available at most department /specialty stores and look for seasoned sales professionals for a good one on one session.
.Spanx is your friend, a good friend. Women of all sizes can benefit from a clean streamlined silhouette. They are also great for smoothing things out.
.Being sexy has little to do with what you are wearing and more to do with how you wear it. Confidence is sexy, posturing is sexy, a classy streamlined appearance is sexy, knowing and dressing for your body type is sexy.
.And above all, LOVE THE SKIN YOU’RE IN!
